On Defense, Number 19, Larry Robinson (and his Grandson)
Larry Robinson
The fact that it's been over a month since I last posted shows you how easy it is to get caught up life and forget to blog. Do not follow my example!

Anwway, every morning I scan through my news feeds on the train using my handy dandy phone. It's really amazing. I used to read the newspaper every day, but now I just get the same info on my phone. But I'll leave that for another post.

I go over news, info relating to my job here at Grandparents.com and the latest hockey news. I *love* hockey and I try to eat up everything I can whenever I can.

This morning my porifessional feeds crossed pathes with my hockey news when I saw the above picture of former hockey player Larry Robinson standing with his grandson Dylan while his number was retired by the Montreal Canadiens. Robinson is currently an assistant coach for my favorite team, the New Jersey Devils, but he used to be an incredile defenseman for Les Habs.

What a thrill it must have been for both Robinson and his grandson. It's not every day that you get your number retired by a pro sports team and to share it with a grandson must make it even more special for both. (picture credit: AFP/Getty Images)

Hi Mattlaw, I missed that presentation of Larry Robertson's sweater being lifted to the rafters.. What a wonderful experience for a grandfather and grandson to share. Being a Canadien fan, ( in spirit only), and living in the Montreal area I was drawn to your post ;o) Our youngest grandson , a 13 month old is in our care two days a week. The child usually has at least one piece of clothing with the Canadiens logo on it. His father our son, is a huge fan of our city's team... Les Habs I have also taking you up on your advice Mattlaw about blogging often. However, am feeling like I am taking over grandparents.com seem to see my face all over the site ;o)))) Cheers from the West Island of Montreal, Quebec,Canada Cathern
