We have had an exciting and busy week thus far. My daughter needed a sitter so Addie came Monday morning early and stayed until Wednesday evening. She had a new cash register so she kept me busy playing "store" or should I say "Sparky Mart". She collected toys, knicknacks from around the house, books and anything else she could find that Nan wouldn't frown upon. We always have to press the limits you know.
She spent time with her wildflower garden and picked us several bouquets. She was a little upset I wouldn't let her pick my newly bloomed lilies. She is so amazed when she finds newly bloomed flowers.
The heat kept us indoors most of the time. She knows Nanni can't tolerate the heat well as I have MS. She is very understanding when it comes time Nan needs a little rest. Such a sweetheart.
Addie visited from 6/16-6/18/08. Mom needed a sitter so I am always open to a visit from Miss Addie. We had such a good time. We played on the computer, played make believe games, she enjoyed her tire swing that is made like a horse, she climbed trees, rode her bike and many more things. She keeps me so busy. She has had a confusing past 9 months as her parents separated and now are divorced. She lives with my daughter who is struggling now as a single parent. I wish she would take advice from me, who raised two young children as a single parent herself. It is difficult to see your children going through difficult times but I think it has been more difficult to watch my granddaughter go through all of it. She feels secure here with her Nanni & Poppi where everything stays the same and she doesn't doubt our love. Poor baby. Hopefully her most difficult days are over. She is so sweet and kind. Her Daddy picked her up today and she was so proud to show him how she could ride her bike and her horse tire swing.
Oh my dear Addie, she never ceases to amaze me with her questions! She and her doll were bathing last evening when the question came out. "Nan, can babies really eat from your breast" So we had a little discussion and answered her question appropriately, I think? Then much to my dismay she revealed where this question came from. She had seen 'Family Guy' of all things and told me "Stewie was still breast feeding but is getting his teeth" Oh how I wish we could have some say as to what they are exposed to. I don't watch that show but I don't think it appropriate for a seven year old child.
She spent a great deal of time picking her wildflowers she planted. We usually have 3 -4 bouquets in the house when she is here. When she goes home we have such wonderful memories. We love flowers together. She loves to plant things and watch them grow as I watch her growing like a beautiful flower. Until next visit I guess. She has been having hip pain and is getting MRI tomorrow. Hope all goes well.
