This season, add a little more bounce to your grandchild's spring

On a tween-grandchild's list of favorite thrills, bouncing up and down in rapid succession is right behind giant roller-coaster drops, and somewhat on par with Heelys. To achieve this rare state of bliss, your grandchild will need a newfangled pogo device with an even funnier name than the original. The Zoingo Boingo is basically a large bouncy ball with an attached deck to stand on, and a stretchy cord with handles. Kids climb on, bounce in any direction they want, and generally don't stop until they feel physically incapable of bouncing any longer. Safe for both indoors and out (assuming they're bouncing a reasonable distance from expensive electronics or moving vehicles), it's the perfect toy to have on hand for an energetic 8-year-old's next visit.
