What is the greatest thing about being a grandparent?

Watching my grandchildren play and doing special things with them. Just loving them and knowing that they love me too. I can enjoy them without the responsibility of being a parent.

My family is a great part of my life. They bring me tremendous joy and comfort. I try to get to see them play ball, compete in horse shows, go to grandparents lunches at school and just to do as much with them as possible. I also have my friends and hobbies. I do mosaics and pottery and take pictures by the hundreds. I use my computers constantly and I am still learning Photoshop, which I think can be a career in itself. When I was younger I was very athletic. Tennis was my all time favorite sport and I played softball for years. At one time we had 15 women on the team with 34 children all who came to our games. I retired from polymer research 4 years ago after 30 years.
