What is the greatest thing about being a grandparent?
Being a grandparent is the greatest joy in the world! From the minute you hear your first born is going to be a Mommy,it is just the beginning of a journey of love and hugs! Some grandparents are lucky enough to live in the same city as their grandchildren(sometimes that can be a challenge....one daughter would love you to take Francesca to Transition class... and your other daughter could use some help with a carpool....I have to say I have a life! But truthfully I am at transition class one afternoon a week from 12:30 til 2:30 and it has brought Francesca so close.Mommy isn't allowed to partake our Wednesday ritual...After class,we have to get a treat and then it's off to her home for naptime. And,Princess Emily, our first grandchild is just returning from Kindergarten. She wants to show me her great art work.I always say how awesome it is (she's artistic)and ask her to tell me about it.Today the Thanksgiving turkey picture looked more like a cat but it's on my refrigerator.I think we need more magnets for all the pix, invitations, and treasures that are on those doors.Having your grandchild say,I Love You Nanny or just giving you a kiss is priceless!
Children are wonderful ....Grandchildren are unbelievable and you don't have to discipline etc...I could go on and on,you get the drift."Grandparents are the dots that connect the generations.
If you want to get to know me, I would start by telling you...
I'm a very involved grandparent! Have 3 amazing children. Two are Mommies and our son is only 24 and a banker in South Africa(returning June 30th)...a one year amazing experience...Family is the most important part of my life.My mother was the best Mom and Nanny in the world and I learned from her! Shehas been deceased for 20 years but Emily is named after her.I'm involved in everything baby. When I'm not doing charity work,I've had the great opportunity to work very part time with two amazing companies. My husband and I will be married 41 years on Dec.17th....He's a great "PaPa" but changing diapers is not on his agenda. It's O.K. My life is full and the garage has two strollers,my car has two car seats.Afterall.we need the forward facing one and the Backward facing one too. It's the law! I remember driving home from the hospital holding my daughters in my arms.Everything changes except the love you instantly feel for each grandchild.
